What is a fundraising page?
A fundraising page is a special webpage with a URL that you can use to support a charity or cause. It’s just like an online collection tin, except your colleagues can donate with their pre-tax pay. You can also send the link to your friends and family outside of Optus to donate to your fundraising page.
You can support or start a fundraiser for any charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 and Tax Concession Charity (TCC) status.
Ask your team, friends, family or colleagues to sponsor you by simply sharing the link to your page.
Anyone who makes a donation to your fundraiser can also leave a message of support.
What can I fundraise for?
The fundraising pages allow you to get support from your team or colleagues for specific charities or events . The charity must be registered on yes4Good and then you can set-up a fundraiser and ask your colleagues to sponsor you with a pre-tax donation.
You could also participate and fundraise for events like the Melbourne Marathon, Movember or the Sun Herald City2Surf. Please contact community@optus.com.au to set up an event page.
How do I set up a fundraiser?
To set up a fundraiser, follow these simple steps:
- Select your name in the top right hand corner
- Select ‘fundraising’ in the left hand navigation
- Select ‘add’ on the fundraising page
- Complete the details of the fundraising form
Please note that you will need to select from an existing charity published on the site.
Can I use my charity gift voucher towards a fundraiser?
No. You can only use it as a donation to charity.
Are donations to fundraisers pre-tax?
Yes. All charities and events promoted on yes4Good have DGR status and tax deductibility. Donations are deducted from your salary pre-tax.
Can people outside of Optus donate to my fundraising page?
