Why has Optus introduced charity gift vouchers?

We see charity gift vouchers as an innovative way to reward our employees for saying yes4Good. This model engages more people and to truly integrate workplace giving into one online website.

Why has Optus stopped giving charity vouchers for volunteering?

We've decided to put the money we used to give as vouchers for volunteering towards large team volunteering events/  if you have a team of 50 Optus people who'd like to take part in a mass volunteering event, we can help fund this day.

Who is eligible for a charity gift voucher?

Every permanent Optus employee will be eligible for one charity gift voucher per year. Charity gift vouchers are distributed on an annual basis (at the end of the Optus financial year) to employees who:

Donate money to charity through yes4Good. These employees are entitled to a charity gift voucher matching their donation up to $300

When will I receive my charity gift voucher?

Charity gift vouchers will be distributed in June each year for the previous financial year contributions. Eligible employees will receive an email from yes4Good with a link and instructions to use their charity gift voucher.

I didn’t receive a charity gift voucher. What should I do?

If you have donated through yes4Good, then you should receive a charity voucher. If you have met these requirements and have not received a charity gift voucher, please contact please email the Optus Community Team.

What should I do with my charity gift voucher?

You can donate your charity gift voucher to any of the charities on the yes4Good website.

What happens if I don’t ‘redeem’ my charity voucher?

You have 1 month to ‘redeem’ the voucher. If their voucher is not redeemed, it will be donated to a charity chosen by Optus.

What if I get a $100 voucher and I see a project that I wish to support for $150?

If you are feeling extra generous you can pick a project or a donation with a greater value than that of your voucher and pay for the difference via your credit card (VISA, AMEX, MASTERCARD are accepted).  The difference (in this example $50) is tax deductible and you will be emailed a receipt for that amount.
